Organizational Climate

According to Forbes Advisor, 22% of workers report not having career advancement opportunities and that was a reason to quit.

75% of employees experience burnout and hence are demotivated and work productivity is reduced.

What can an employee in your organization have to say about how they feel working there?

Is your turnover rate high?

Is the forecast showing that most employees are demotivated based on the behaviours they exhibit which shows a sign they’d soon leave the organization?

Do you think this can be caused by dissatisfaction with what they’re paid?

Have you checked for other factors like your organization’s climate?

The climate of an organization is the employee’s perception of the working environment and it can be either positive or negative.

As Hr, here are a few things you can do to improve your organizational climate;

  • Create a comfortable workspace or improve the existing one. This stimulates creativity when employees have all the necessary tools needed to perform their jobs.

 

  • Champion employee recognition, showing them that they’re valued for their work, dedication, and achievements. This can be done by giving them shoutouts, gifts or coupons, an award, and even monetary rewards.

 

  • Engage in surveys and feedback from employees, where they’re encouraged to give an honest review and know it’s a safe place to lend their voice about their concerns and true feelings without fear. This would give you an overview of your current climate and how to improve on it.

 

  • Promote inclusion and belonging, ensure managers lead by example and encourage teamwork.
