Zed was a school bus driver for Avant Montessori group of schools, he always felt his job was the least valuable in the organization which makes him always sad and thinking of how to live a better life or have a more meaningful job where he would have his own office and have people working under him.
As good as Zed’s dream may be, now his lack of fulfilment has impacted the way he handled his job, he shows up late, he doesn’t pay attention to bus to check out for faults that needs repair, he always had the bus breakdown, and this started impacting the school’s image as students always complained to their parents of their displeasure.
In the middle of all these, Mrs Wellignton who was the principal of the school called Zed into her office, she thanked him for working with the kids and his patience around them, she told him how valuable his role is and how he has put in efforts to hold it together, she let him know that being able to transport kids safely always has kept many parents relaxed with having their kids in the school even while at work. She encouraged him to keep on being exceptional and that the school and the children need him.
Zed left her office that day in his emotions, he never knew his efforts were seen and his job was this relevant to the school, he felt fulfilled and determined in his mind to always make the kids have great experiences and memories riding along with him. He started singing them songs while he picked them up or dropped them off from school, he always made sure to tell them how great they were and how they could achieve anything they set their mind to do.
The kids always looked forward to driving with Zed, they told their friends in other schools of their experience and their friends pleaded with their parents to put them in Avant Montessori. There was an influx in the number of new kids who registered in the school. They had to buy a new bus, Zed trained the new driver and by the end of the Academic year, he received an award for excellence in service delivery and he was made the head of the unit for service staffs in the school.
